What to expect from us…

Thanks for visiting! If you're new here, we're The Coggins Fam, and we're on a journey to live wholeheartedly.

To be candid, we struggled with starting this website and associated social media accounts. However, the fear of not doing something began to outweigh the fear of putting ourselves out there and recording parts of this journey. I can’t point to a beginning, but we’ve been seeking ways to live with more intention and in ways that allow for a slower, simpler way of life.

The main reason we struggled with building a website and social media content is that we believe it's more challenging to live a slower-paced, intentional life while constantly engaging in these mediums.

Our goal isn’t to garner a bunch of followers or make a name for ourselves. We would like to make some money along the way if we can align our passion and giftings with a particular line of work, but that’s not the main goal.

The primary reason we started this was to share our story, guide others who share a similar story, and be faithful with the passion and giftings we’ve been blessed with.

We don’t want to be a inhibited by a social media algorithm.

We don’t want to feel pressured to live our lives through a screen to keep our followers engaged.

We don’t want to feel like we have to hit a quota and churn out content if it’s not high quality and what’s on our hearts, especially in this season of life that includes full-time jobs, kids, aging parents, etc.

We aren’t saying anyone who does this is bad, but it’s just not the direction that we wanted to take this pursuit for our family.

Values that come to mind that aren’t synonymous with a hustle-and-grind-it-out lifestyle are:

  1. Focused

  2. Rest

  3. Wholeheartedness

  4. Curiosity

  5. Vulnerability

  6. Generosity

So what does this mean for you? Glad you asked!

Less posting just to post. We will post when it’s something that is truly on our hearts or that aligns with the vision for this pursuit. This may be a social media foul, but we won’t try to hit a high quota for posting. You have enough going on in your life and probably need some space away from your device, so count us as a partner in that pursuit! What can help here is if you subscribe to our email list or our posts on Instagram - you won’t miss our posts that way.

You probably won’t see much of us on the weekend. We tend to sabbath on the weekend and engage more with family and friends - If we aren’t in the work rhythm, we don’t want to be a distraction from you spending that quality time with your loved ones as well.

We are going to try to live by what we talk about. If we are talking about the benefits of sleeping or resting well, we are probably not going to stay up too late working on this pursuit. If we are talking about the value of living a focused life, we are probably going to be saying no to more things than we are saying yes to.

Honesty throughout the journey. This way of life isn’t for the masses. If it was, more folks would be doing it right now. It’s a more narrow path and takes commitment, vision, and time. We aren’t trying to become the perfect Coggins Fam tomorrow. We know that’s a false hope and will set us up for disappointment. We are here for the journey and the time it takes to journey. Morgan Snyder of Become Good Soil says, “live in the day, measure in the decade.” We want to be present for today.

What you'll find us posting about:

  • Tools to help you grow and define your family values

  • Ways to streamline your everyday life, all with the goal of living more simply

  • Tools and resources to help you capture moments with your little ones in these precious years of life

  • Fun ideas to create more intention in your daily life, whether with friends, family, or other loved ones

  • Ways to celebrate holidays with more intention and less focus on the consumer side of these seasons

  • Discovering your version of living wholeheartedly

  • Intention in loving those around you and cultivating more gratitude in your life.

Wholeheartedly,

The Coggins Fam
