Year In Review
I’ve done yearly reviews in the past and found they’re a fantastic way to transition into the new year. While I’m naturally a planner and goal-setter, I’ve moved away from setting ambitious New Year’s goals. Instead, I’ve embraced the idea of setting goals whenever I feel motivated throughout the year.
Most of my research on focus (shoutout to James Clear and Shawn Blanc) emphasizes the importance of committing to just one or two goals at a time. Trying to tackle more than that often leads to burnout and a lack of progress, as your attention gets divided among too many priorities.
What I think is more helpful at this time of year is taking a moment to reflect on the past year and use that reflection to set intentions for the year ahead. That’s why our Year in Review Workbook focuses twice as much on the past year as it does on the next.
I like to start by pulling out my calendar from the past year and jotting down all the big events in chronological order. This simple exercise always amazes me—it’s a reminder of just how full life really is and how much more happens than we tend to remember or how much more we accomplish than we give ourselves credit for.
This brings me to a question for you:
Do you ever feel like you want to reflect on your year but can’t find the time—or the willpower—to sit down and do it?
We get it. Life moves fast, and carving out time for reflection can feel overwhelming. That’s why we created the Year in Review Workbook—to make personal reflection simple, approachable, and even enjoyable.
Here’s how it works:
Skip the guesswork: The workbook guides you with clear, thoughtful prompts—no need to figure out what to ask yourself.
Fit it into your schedule: Complete it in a single evening or spend 10 minutes a day working through it over a week. It’s designed for busy lives.
Celebrate your year: It’s not about reliving every detail; it’s about uncovering lessons, celebrating wins, and rediscovering dreams you might have overlooked.
The best part? You don’t have to do it alone. The workbook is like having a personal coach guiding you every step of the way.
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the prompts:
Where did you make the most progress this year?
Did you learn anything new about yourself?
Is there something you need to grieve from this past year?
What’s one area of life you want to focus on next year?
What words come to mind when you think about the year ahead?
And because we believe so strongly in the value of reflection, we’re offering this workbook for free when you sign up for our email list.

Pro Tip: Spend extra time on the values question. When your values are clear, life’s confusion starts to turn into clarity. Don’t skip this part!
Make this the year you finally take the time to celebrate your growth, uncover hidden lessons, and step into the new year with purpose.
Warmly,
The Coggins Fam
P.S. Reflection doesn’t have to be hard—especially when someone else does the heavy lifting. Ready to give it a try?
